OSHA Regional Emphasis Program

Did you know that noise and hearing conservation is one of the top 10 most cited OSHA violations in the wood products industry for fiscal year 2020? Though there were fewer inspections over FY 2020, the relative number of violations remains consistent from previous years.

Earlier this year, OSHA announced a new Regional Emphasis Program for manufacturing employers in the Midwest area to raise awareness about the dangers of hazardous noise levels. Educational efforts began early in the summer, and targeted inspections started this fall.
